What You'll DoAs a 3rd Shift Equipment Operator, you'll play a vital role in keeping our city running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating a variety of equipment and machinery, such as:
- Trucks and tandem vehicles
- Large rubber-tired end loaders
- Street sweepers
- Snow blowers for front-end loaders
- Dickey-John salt spreading systems
- Refuse and recycling packers
- Assisting with snow removal operations, including applying salt and sand
- Performing routine manual labor related to equipment operation, construction, maintenance, and service activities
- Maintaining accurate work records and compiling related reports
- Working in various weather conditions, including temperature extremes, odors, noise, and dust
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence
- Comfort using technology and willingness to learn new equipment
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing priorities
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Availability for Sunday-Thursday, 11:00 PM-7:00 AM
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of recent experience operating front-end loaders
- Ability to learn and operate specialized municipal equipment (street sweepers, snow removal equipment)
- Valid Wisconsin CDL (Class B or C with air brakes)
- Ability to obtain a Tanker (N) endorsement within 12 months of hire
- Good driving record per City policy
