Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES) provides energy industry solutions – new equipment, retrofits, maintenance, outage planning and more – for current and future power generation needs in the Americas, including thermal, hydro and nuclear power plants.
We are seeking a 2nd shift Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician to work out of our Milwaukee Service Center. The NDE Technician is responsible for performing daily tasks including equipment calibrations, hands‑on NDT procedures, and conducting Non‑Destructive Evaluations with accurate documentation of results. This role involves making accept/reject decisions based on established procedures, specifications, and applicable standards. The technician must have a solid understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the NDT methods being applied.
EssentialDuties
- Conduct appropriate NDE tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDE methods of inspection.
- Establish and follow techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
- Interpret test results and visual indicators.
- Organize and report test results.
- Set up and calibrate NDE equipment.
- Perform specialized inspections.
- Perform other job‑related tasks. Education And Required Experience
- High School graduate or equivalent. Technical school or NDE courses taken are a plus.
- 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility using applicable NDE applications and methods.
- Knowledge of ASTM NDE and ISO standards.
- Proven written communication skills.
- Ability to properly perform calibrations.
- Analytical skills with good judgment to interpret and evaluate results.
- Technical certifications in ASNT NDT Level II
- Liquid Penetrant “PT”
- Magnetic Particle Testing “MT”
- Eddy Current “ET” or Ultrasonic “UT” preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, and risk of shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold and wet, humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
