Position SummaryThe Receiving Operations role involves overseeing all aspects of incoming goods, including unloading, inspection, verification, and accurate entry into the inventory system. It requires strong leadership to guide, train, and schedule the receiving team for efficient performance. The position also entails coordinating with suppliers and logistics partners to manage deliveries and resolve shipment issues. Maintaining precise inventory records and supporting reconciliation efforts are key responsibilities, along with implementing quality control measures to ensure goods meet required standards.
Safety and compliance are critical, with regular inspections and adherence to protocols. Additionally, the role includes generating reports and analyzing performance metrics to provide insights and updates to management.
- Receiving Oversight:
Manage unloading, inspection, verification, and system entry of incoming goods. - Team Leadership:
Supervise, train, and schedule the receiving team to ensure efficient operations. - Supplier Coordination:
Liaise with logistics partners to manage deliveries and resolve shipment issues. - Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor levels, and support reconciliation efforts. - Quality Control:
Enforce quality standards, inspect goods, and collaborate with QA to address issues. - Safety & Compliance:
Uphold safety protocols, conduct inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance. - Reporting & Analysis:
Produce performance reports and provide operational insights to management.
- Proven experience in warehouse receiving operations or logistics coordination.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring teams.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and related software.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication and problem‑solving skills for supplier coordination.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection procedures.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements in warehouse environments.
- Ability to analyze data and generate performance reports.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and documentation.
- Physical capability to perform warehouse duties, including lifting and inspecting goods.
- Previous successful experience in sales or customer service related positions preferred but not required
