Job Summary
This position will implement behavior plans created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by directly working with students exhibiting behavioral challenges to teach new skills, address problematic behaviors, and monitor progress using applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques. Primary responsibility is to collect data on student behavior, implement treatment plans, and collaborate with other staff to support positive behavior changes.
Qualifications- Certificate, bachelor’s, or associate’s degree in behavioral health or related field.
- ABA Therapist certification preferred.
- Must be eligible for a Wisconsin DPI-issued Special Education Educational Assistant license.
- Proven work experience as a Behavioral Technician or similar role for a minimum of 1-year.
- Must meet Title One Para Professional Highly Qualified Requirements.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (provided by District).
- Pro-Act Certification (provided by the District).
- Follow a personalized behavior plan designed by the District’s BCBA, providing one-on-one support to students by teaching new skills like communication, social interaction, self-care, and adaptive behaviors through positive reinforcement strategies.
- Accurately record student behaviors during the day, graphing data to track progress and identify areas of improvement, and using this information to adjust interventions as needed.
- Engaging with students in various activities and settings to practice targeted skills, providing prompts, and reinforcement as necessary, and managing challenging behaviors using appropriate techniques.
- Maintaining open communication with the BCBA supervisor, reporting progress, discussing concerns, and collaborating with staff and other professionals involved with the student’s plan.
- Under the direction of the District BCBA, help to educate families on the principles of ABA and how to implement intervention strategies at home to support student progress.
- Actively supports the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District’s Strategic Plan.
- Attend meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Maybe part time or full time. Full time = 40 hours per week
- 10-month position during the school year
