RV Park Lead Customer Service Associate (West Allis, WI) POSITION SUMMARY
The Wisconsin State Fair Park (WSFP) is seeking an enthusiastic, customer service-oriented, dedicated, and organized candidate to work as the Lead Customer Service Associate at our RV Park. Under the general direction of RV Park management, this person is responsible for the guest experience, including, but not limited to registration, filling propane tanks, and using professional communication and service skills in all interactions with customers.
This person will also be responsible for administrative tasks and maintaining up to date customer information, payments, and all other tasks related to extended-stay customers and Wisconsin State Fair reservations.
This position is an unclassified, Dual-Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system, working an average of 40 hours per week throughout the calendar year. Annual hours worked will not exceed 2,078. Work schedule will vary, working approximately 35 hours per week during the winter months and approximately 45+ hours per week during the summer months.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITSThe starting wage for this role is $20 per hour. A comprehensive fringe benefits package, including pension, health and dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance is available after a minimum employment period is met. Annual hours worked will not exceed 2,078.
Paid time off for vacation, holidays, etc. is not included as part of the benefits package.
This position is open to all qualified State of Wisconsin residents who meet the outlined criteria.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Take reservations and payment over the phone and in person, explaining all options available for booking
- Strategically manage site assignments within the reservation system to maximize availability for reservations
- Accurately create and manage all extended stay reservations, following specific processes and procedures for payment schedules, agreements, and other forms necessary for extended stays
- Greet and assist guests through the check-in and check-out processes
- Perform lot checks and site inspections, submitting work orders as necessary
- Balance daily sales (charge slips and cash register) accurately against daily report
- Take initiative to resolve or find an acceptable resolution when a situation arises with an upset customer in order to provide quality customer service while adhering to WSFP RV Park policies, procedures, and rules
- Post charges for sites, amenities, etc. to accounts and receive payment via check, charge or cash, dispensing accurate change as necessary
- Oversee and assist in all front desk operations while delegating tasks and ensuring accurate completion of tasks
- Maintain positive relationships with outside vendors, WSFP staff and RV Park guests
- Maintain customer databases and clerical spreadsheets, ensuring they are accurate and up to date
- Take initiative to maintain cleanliness and upkeep of RV Park office, facilities, and grounds
- Fill propane tanks according to federal and state guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, and other staff members
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with ability to effectively resolve complaints and handle grievances
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete assigned tasks as well as identify and complete unassigned tasks to improve the RV Park
- Previous experience using reservation software and basic knowledge in RVs or camping, preferred
- Cash handling skills, considerable knowledge of mathematics and ability to balance daily reports against receipts
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to troubleshoot, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Teams, and Excel
- Ability to safely perform the physical demands associated with this position in both indoor and outdoor environments, and in all weather conditions. These demands include, but are not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, driving, lifting and/or transporting items (up to 40 pounds) over short distances, bending, stooping, and using hands for gripping, grasping, and manipulating tools, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work an average of 5-6 shifts each week, including both weekend and weekday shifts as scheduled
- Ability to work extended hours as required during and leading up to events
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Driver License
The candidate must be able to work all 11 days of the annual Wisconsin State Fair. Candidates must also be available to work the four days leading up to, and the three days following, the Wisconsin State Fair.
