* Facilitates organizational compliance with required data reporting through chart reviews and data extraction. Uses knowledge of professional standards of care when evaluating patient care and making recommendations. Explores opportunities to improve patient outcomes through performance improvement activities. Promotes organizational compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and state and federal regulations through quality management activities. Promotes improved outcomes of care through increasing organizational knowledge of and compliance with quality metrics.

Demonstrates commitment to professional and personal growth. Applies knowledge of performance improvement methods including the use of data analysis and reporting to current clinical programs or projects. Compiles data reports, assists in data analysis, and develops performance improvement action plans for units, divisions, or teams as needed. Reviews and abstracts mortality cases for patients admitted to the hospital. Assists with utilizing and monitoring a data tracking system for the mortality review program through the care continuum.

Submits collected data via the Mortality Learning System monthly to clinical leadership. Utilizes data for preparation of mortality review meetings, reports, studies, and audits; provides feedback regarding data collected and outcomes to mortality review and hospital leadership, medical staff, and others as applicable. Performs other duties as assigned.
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
* - Prior experience in quality management and/or utilization/resource management activities such as chart reviews, data extraction, data collation, data analysis. [Preferred]

- Word processing (PC applications) skills, able to prepare reports and simple tables. [Preferred]

- Epic usage [Preferred]

* - 1+ years experience with mortality review [Preferred]

- 2+ years experience with advanced pc applications preferred (spreadsheet and graphics) [Preferred]

- 3+ years quality improvement experience [Preferred]

- 1+ years experience as a staff nurse [Required]

- 3+ years of RN experience in health care [Preferred]

- Equivalent Quality Management experience in an acute care hospital upon hire [Preferred]

- Experience with team facilitation in a continuous quality improvement environment upon hire [Preferred]
