Job Description- Responds to and participates in stroke alert events to support the clinical team and completes follow-up calls to determine patient outcomes and provide additional education and support.
- Serves as the stroke program clinical content expert, utilizing skilled knowledge of clinical stroke evidence-based guidelines, national accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Leads the stroke interdisciplinary committee(s) in partnership with the stroke medical director to improve clinical performance, standardize processes, and ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Identifies variations in care and leads the development of corrective action plans to improve performance.
- Leads mortality and morbidity committee reviews to identify clinical opportunities for improving outcomes.
- Up to date knowledge of adult neuroscience and stroke nursing practice [Required]
- Strong leadership, organization, and collaboration skills [Required]
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills [Required]
- Knowledge of process improvement strategies [Required]
- Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff [Required]
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities to achieve organizational goals [Required]
- Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) [Required]
- Knowledge related to telemedicine practice [Preferred]
- Knowledge of American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get with the Guidelines Stroke Registry [Preferred]
- Knowledge of state/federal regulatory agencies, accreditation standards and national society clinical guidelines [Preferred]
- Quality improvement knowledge include but not limited to CMS outcomes, Value Based Purchasing, Bundle Payment, and other national quality improvement initiatives [Preferred]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
- Master's in Nursing or other healthcare related field [Preferred]
- N/A
- 3+ years acute care, critical care, neuroscience, or stroke related nursing experience [Required]
- Critical care, neuroscience, or stroke care related nursing experience [Preferred]
- Experience as stroke coordinator or with accreditation of stroke programs [Preferred]
- Experience working in large healthcare systems neuroscience service line [Preferred]

- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]
