As a Security Officer - Armed Vehicle Patrol Driver in Weslaco, TX
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, staying highly visible to help reduce security‑related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document activity, and provide strong customer service and clear communication to shoppers and store teams.
This is an armed post that requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license for mobile patrol duties.

- Provide customer service to clients and guests by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout retail sales areas, common areas, receiving docks, parking lots, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including disturbances, suspected theft, medical situations, and/or alarms.
- Control access to restricted areas, monitor for unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized entry and/or criminal activity while maintaining a professional presence.
- Document security-related activities, incidents, and patrol observations in written reports and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or local authorities as needed.
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- An armed guard card and/or license is required.
- A Level III Armed Certification is required for Texas only.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
