Overview
We are seeking a Labour and Delivery RN, also referred to as a Labour & Delivery Nurse (L&D RN) or Delivery Room RN. A Labour and Delivery RN provides comprehensive care to mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, assisting with deliveries, performing clinical tasks, ensuring patient safety, educating families, and coordinating closely with the healthcare team to respond to both routine and emergency situations.
This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN nurses are needed.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors. Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well‑being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
- ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current.
- NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
- Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred.
- STABLE preferred.
