We serve organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including parts of Illinois and Maryland. Our drivers support school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and individuals needing rides to appointments or other transportation needs.
PositionWe are seeking a reliable and dedicated Ambulatory Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for patients traveling to and from medical appointments. This role requires flexibility to operate in additional geographic areas as needed to support business demands. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to assist individuals with varying mobility needs.
Keyresponsibilities
- Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle, performing routine inspections and reporting any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while ensuring the safety of passengers.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to coordinate transportation needs.
- Document transportation activities and maintain accurate records as required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a driving or transportation role preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to assist individuals with mobility challenges.
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid Class E driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent; CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screening.
- Familiarity with GPS and navigation systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible schedule and ability to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
- Experience in healthcare or patient transport (preferred).
- Punctuality and reliability in attending scheduled shifts.
- Capacity to work calmly under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Patience and empathy towards patients with mental or physical disabilities.
- Documentation of transport details and timely reporting of issues as required.
