Chelan County PUD is located in the geographical center of Washington State at the confluence of the Columbia and Wenatchee rivers. OverviewJourneyman Lineman duties include construction and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems. Direct responsibility for completing assigned work in a safe and efficient manner and for the general condition of trucks, special equipment and tools.
Responsibilities- Must efficiently construct all phases of overhead and underground line work according to District line construction standards and practices; must know and understand District operating instructions.
- Understand WAC 45 and OSHA rules and be responsible for tools and equipment needed to install and maintain the District's electrical system. This may include purchasing and inventory of new equipment, tools, and learning new technology.
- Once qualified, may be required to fill-in as Temporary Foreman or Serviceman on an as-needed basis.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance; perform related duties as required; comply with District policies; complete all required training; maintain safety procedures in accordance with RCW/WAC and district requirements.
- As an essential function, drive a motorized vehicle while conducting District business.

Qualifications EducationEquivalent experience (year-for-year) may substitute for required education.
- Must have completed a JATC or NJATC lineman apprenticeship or a three (3) or four (4) year accredited lineman apprenticeship. Written documentation of related training with at least 1,000 documented hours of working a conductor energized at primary voltage. Acceptable documentation includes apprenticeship certificates, college transcripts or journey-level lineman card equal to NJATC requirements.
- Must have experience in line construction and maintenance and be proficient in using tools and operating heavy equipment on energized and de-energized systems.
- Valid Driver's License at hire and WA Driver's License within 30 days of hire.
- Class A CDL License upon hire is required.
- CDL Airbrake Restriction Removed upon hire is required.
- Strong working knowledge of electricity fundamentals related to utility systems.
