Summary
This position will primarily assist with juvenile salmonid sampling using rotary screw smolt traps and backpack electrofishing in wadable streams by effectively executing established standard techniques and methodologies, ensuring consistent quality and accuracy in outcomes. Applicants must be experienced in sampling juvenile salmonids, including anesthetizing fish, weighing and measuring fish, identifying and interpreting marks and tags, identifying species of salmonids and other fishes, and PIT tagging fish.
The applicant must be able to record data accurately and write legibly. Experience working on rotary screw traps and with backpack electrofishing is preferred. Experience working with federally listed fish species such as steelhead, Chinook Salmon, and Bull Trout is preferred. Applicants must be able to follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.

- Performs data entry and data management.

- Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science, or related field is preferred.

- Valid Driver's License.
- Strong computer skills.
Physical Requirements
This role requires frequent travel to outdoor work sites and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, rough terrain, and physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs., prolonged standing, or walking.
Travel RequirementsOccasional travel (up to 10%) for client meetings, site visits, or field work.
Salary RangeSalary Range: $23 - 25/hour
