Position Summary
The Maintenance Engineer performs interior and exterior property maintenance functions, include upkeep of building exterior and parking areas, cleaning and maintenance for interior of building. The Maintenance Engineer arranges for room set-up for larger meetings or conferences, if needed. This position is responsible for coordinating vehicle maintenance and repair with identified resources.
Perform general maintenance of interior of the building facility- Move heavy furniture, equipment, supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance
- Paint or report roof, windows, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures as indicated
- Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery using mowers, hand and power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds.
- Remove snow from sidewalks using snow shovels and spread snow melting chemicals.
- Maintain building interior and exterior lighting by replacing bulbs or fixtures as indicated.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Notify managers of any supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Set up, arrange and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
- Spray insecticides and fumigates to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
- Obtain estimates and submit for approval prior to completion.
- Obtain prior approval for supply and equipment orders.
- Maintain documentation of routine maintenance, repairs needed and repairs completed.
Responsibilities may include additional duties assigned by the employer as needed.

Physical RequirementsThis position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertions, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time.
Education- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years experience of building maintenance, construction and/or property management and maintenance duties
- Oral and written communication skills with peers, supervisors and public
- Must have strong commitment to the right and the ability of each person with a severe mental illness to live in the community
- Ability to be self-motivated, work independently and as a team member
- Ability to represent the agencies in a professional manner within the community
- Detailed oriented and able to multitask
- Valid Washington State drivers License and agency required minimum liability insurance
- Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Wage Range$20.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience
