Salary Range
: $22.54 - $35.98

Summary

BILINGUAL-SPANISH PREFERENCE. This is a full-time float position providing coverage where needed in various primary and specialty care departments. Primary work location is the Moses Lake Clinic; float staff will also provide occasional coverage at clinics in Ephrata and Royal City. Core work schedule is M-F, 8am-5pm. Float staff may work occasional evening or weekend shifts in the Walk-In Clinic. Float positions are compensated with an additional $1 per hour float differential.

A $3,000 Sign On Bonus is offered for Certified Medical Assistants. No experience necessary. Must have active MA-C license and be an external applicant. Requires 1 year commitment to Confluence Health.

Position

Medical Assistant Certified will assist the provider and health care team in delivering excellent customer service and quality patient care by performing clerical and patient-related tasks. Duties may include injections, measuring vital signs, patient flow, pre-visit preparation, assisting with patient visits, post-visit duties, and communicating schedule changes that impact patient flow. May assist with front office activities, scheduling tasks, and reporting test results as directed by the provider.

Essential Functions
  • Greet patients promptly and prepare them for exam; support timely patient flow with the clinical team.
  • Obtain and record vital signs according to department protocols in the EMR.
  • Obtain patient medical history and reason for visit; document accurately to maintain a complete medical record. Administer injections and medications as directed by the provider.
  • Assist in procedures and minor emergencies as directed by the provider or RN within the Medical Assistant Certified scope of practice.
  • Schedule lab, x-ray, and other tests; instruct patients on routine sample collection and testing procedures; provide follow-up lab results and callbacks as delegated.
  • Communicate with patients and provide follow-up; relay important information to the provider and, if needed, contact the pharmacy with medication orders.
  • Maintain clean exam rooms, clean instruments, and stock items for use in exam and procedure rooms.
  • Maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Accredited Medical Assisting program graduate, or enrolled in externship program, OR Medical Assistant Apprentice with completion of the curriculum, passed the CCMA exam, and awaiting InReach committee consideration to receive Medical Assistant - Certified Licensure.
  • Active Medical Assistant Interim (IC) or Medical Assistant - Certified (CM) license through the Washington State Department of Health or Internal Apprentice awaiting licensure.

Desired

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions

Work is performed at a work station and in patient exam rooms. Hours may be irregular, overtime may be required, and work may occur under stressful conditions. Supervision is provided by the Practice Manager with guidance from providers.
