This apprenticeship role provides hands‑on training in bricklaying, working under the guidance of experienced tradespeople while working toward a Level 2 qualification. The position offers practical site experience, structured learning, and the opportunity to develop foundational skills for a long‑term career in the construction industry.
Duties- Learn to read and interpret drawings and specifications for brickwork and blockwork.
- Set out and prepare work areas in line with site plans and levels.
- Lay bricks, blocks, and masonry units to required lines, levels, and specifications.
- Mix and use mortar safely and correctly.
- Use and maintain hand tools and equipment appropriately.
- Assist with simple scaffolding and access equipment when needed.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure work areas remain clean and safe.
- Attend scheduled training at the academy and complete all coursework and assessments.
- Participate in apprentice reviews to monitor progress.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies, including correct PPE use.
- Work collaboratively with the site team and other trades.
Ability to listen, learn, and follow instructions carefully. Strong attention to detail and pride in work. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physically fit and able to meet the physical demands of the trade. Reliable and safety‑conscious attitude. Flexible and adaptable to work across different sites and tasks. Interest in practical, hands‑on outdoor work. Must live in one of the following boroughs:
Brent, Barnet, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Hammersmith & Fulham.
Maths & English Level 1 (Functional Skills if applicable). CSCS Card.

Minimum 6 months.
Working hours:
- Under 18: 8:00–16:00
- 18+: 8:00–16:30
Training schedule (academy):
Monday–Friday, 8:30–16:30.
Evenings, weekends, and nights:
Not required.
Applicants may complete a paid work trial before beginning the apprenticeship.
Qualifications gained during the programme:
- Maths & English Level 1 (Functional Skills if required)
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Bricklaying
- CSCS Card (if not already held)
