An inclusive and friendly primary school in Wembley is looking to appoint a skilled Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), behavioural needs, and speech and language difficulties. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about inclusion and committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning. You’ll be a key part of the support network around the child, working closely with school staff and external professionals to ensure consistent and meaningful progress.
YourKey Duties
- Deliver tailored 1:1 support to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
- Use effective strategies to support emotional regulation and manage behaviour positively.
- Assist with learning activities across the school day, both in the classroom and during interventions.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and visiting specialists.
- Promote independence, confidence, communication, and social skills.
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (Candidates with a Level 2 qualification and strong SEND experience will also be considered).
- Previous experience in a UK primary school setting.
- Proven experience supporting pupils with ASD and behavioural challenges.
- Knowledge of speech and language development and associated needs.
- A calm, adaptable, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A welcoming, supportive, and inclusive school community.
- Reliable, consistent working hours during term time.
