Mainframe Cyber Security Analyst – RACF

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Security Analyst to join our team. As part of the Mainframe RACF Security team your role is to protect Tesco mainframes by supporting security initiatives and administration. Working with your team and manager, you will maintain control over access and security monitoring of the mainframe platform, and support business users with access queries.

• Respond to user requests and issues assigned in the RACF ticketing system.
• Review and action change requests for RACF access.
• Monitor daily tasks and controls to maintain operational efficiency.
• Respond to security alerts from mainframe security monitoring.
• Administer the RACF Roles Based Access application (RBAC).
• Administer the RACF privileged access management (PAM).
• Recertify access to roles with data owners.
• Create, review and maintain internal documentation (Run books, processes and procedures).
• Assist in audit evidence and remediation activities.
• Follow up on access management deficiencies identified in risk reviews, self‑assessments, risk assessments and internal and external audits.

• Extensive RACF/z/OS specialist knowledge and experience with related z/OS components.
• Understanding of security concepts and technologies within a mainframe environment.
• Experience with IBM zSecure tools such as z/Alert, Command Verifier, Access Monitor and RACF Offline and CARLA reporting.
• Knowledge of IBM RACF mainframe security software & configuration.
• Experience with mainframe languages such as JCL, REXX, CLIST, ISPF.
• Experience documenting working processes/procedures and support activities to a high standard.
• Substantial problem‑solving skills; able to think laterally and conceptually.
• Effective communication skills with team and other stakeholders.
• Understanding of Role Based Access Controls (RBAC).
• Understanding of ICFR controls (previously Sarbanes‑Oxley).
• Experience in digital certificate management & implementation.
• Knowledge of RACF remote sharing facility (RRSF).
