An Assembly Technician is responsible for putting together component parts or pieces adhering to a specified set of blueprints or schematics. They verify the correct quantities of components parts and quality checking completed items, manage parts inventory and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products and structures.
Job Responsibilities- Follow technical instructions; interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms.
- Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
- Inventory parts and tools used in the assembling process.
- Follow company procedures and directives.
- Test finished products for defects.
- Maintain the tools used to create products.
- Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
Required Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED required.
- Must be a US Citizen due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GKN experience.
- A two year degree in an industrial or manufacturing field and/or automotive experience is a plus.
- Manufacturing / industrial work experience performing tasks associated with fabrication and/or assembly.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize discrepancies in materials or processes.
- Position requires knowledge of basic shop math, including addition, subtraction, decimals and fractions.
