Overview
Wellington International is seeking an experienced Painter to join the Facilities Maintenance Department. This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities Maintenance.
Responsibilities- Performs other related painting and facilities maintenance duties as assigned.
- Painter may work in a variety of environments, including interior and exterior areas.
- Performs all jobs requiring painting at the facility.
- Preparing surfaces: sanding, filling cracks, removing old paint, and washing walls.
- Mixing paints:
Matching colors and textures to meet the project’s requirements. Staining. - Applying paint:
Applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, furniture, and other surfaces. - Cleaning up:
Cleaning up painting tools and supplies. - Following safety rules:
Adhering to workplace safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to work Tuesday - Sunday during peak season (December thru April). Reliable and dependable.
- Self‑Motivation/Time Management: able to determine and prioritize tasks with minimal direction.
- Detail Oriented:
Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well. - Strong communication: able to communicate effectively.
- Collaboration:
able to work with various departments and personnel as necessary.
- High School diploma required.
- 3+ years of experience commercial painting.
- Considerable physical activity.
- Must be capable of climbing and working from ladders up to 30‑35 feet.
- Requires heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds at times.
