About the Estimator Opportunity

PSR Solutions are delighted to be partnering with a respected Regional Main Contractor based in Telford, recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join their dynamic pre-construction team.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the tendering process across a diverse portfolio of Industrial, Commercial, and Education projects throughout the Midlands region. The role is primarily office-based within a supportive team environment, offering the chance to play a pivotal part in securing projects and influencing early-stage construction strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive, and clearly presented cost estimates for a variety of new build and refurbishment schemes
• Manage the full tender process, including take-offs, scope reviews, risk assessments, and subcontractor engagement
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and project information to develop robust pricing strategies
• Build strong working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure reliable and competitive pricing
• Lead tender reviews and handover meetings with the pre-construction and delivery teams
• Identify value engineering opportunities and propose cost-effective alternatives where appropriate
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, procurement policies, and tender governance
• Work collaboratively with design, commercial, and operational teams to support bid success and project delivery

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as an Estimator within a Main Contractor environment
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market rates
• Experience pricing a mix of Industrial, Commercial, and Public Sector projects
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications with strong attention to detail
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships internally and externally
• Proficient in estimating software and digital measurement tools
