Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Note – Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.
Hours/Weeks: 29.6 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About The Role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Health and Social Care to join our Health, Social Care and Childcare department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Teaching & Learner Achievement – Prepare, deliver, assess and verify courses from Entry Level 3 to Level 5, managing learning effectively and supporting students to achieve success and realise their potential.
- Curriculum & Quality Management – Contribute proactively to curriculum development and innovative teaching, implement quality assurance processes, meet awarding‑body requirements and deadlines, and support departmental self‑assessment and improvement.
- Inclusive Delivery & Student Experience – Teach across a range of programmes and learner needs, creating engaging, safe and inclusive learning environments that promote positive behaviour, diversity awareness and high standards of conduct.
- Assessment, Monitoring & Reporting – Assess, verify and moderate learner work, maintain accurate progress records and reports, meet assessment deadlines, and communicate concerns promptly with programme and departmental leaders.
- College Engagement & Professional Practice – Support marketing and recruitment activities, employer and vocational links, interviews and open events while maintaining up‑to‑date industry CPD and upholding safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and training responsibilities.
About You
- Qualifications & Industry Experience – Degree in a relevant Health and Social Care discipline, GCSE English and maths (or equivalent), teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one), and recent industry experience with up‑to‑date specialist knowledge.
- Inclusive Practice & Equality – Proven experience working with diverse communities, promoting equality and diversity, and consistently creating a welcoming, supportive environment for all learners.
- Professional & Interpersonal Skills – Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across the College and contribute effectively to team success.
- Organisation & College Values – Excellent organisational skills with an ability to meet deadlines, deliver high‑quality learning experiences, and work in line with College values including student‑centred practice, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Safeguarding, CPD & Flexibility – Committed to safeguarding and maintaining professional boundaries, health & safety awareness, ongoing CPD, and flexible working, with the ability to travel across sites and access to a vehicle.
