We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor to join our supportive school team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supervising and assisting children during lunchtime, both within the school building and in the playground, ensuring a safe, inclusive and positive environment at all times. As an OPAL school, we value high-quality outdoor play and learning, and the role will involve actively encouraging positive play experiences, supporting children to manage social interactions, and promoting independence and cooperation.
You will need to be calm, observant and able to respond appropriately to a range of behaviours and situations, ensuring all children feel safe and supported. Previous experience working with children would be beneficial, however training and support will be provided for the right candidate. A good sense of humour, patience and flexibility are essential, as no two lunchtimes are ever the same.
SUPERVISOR – 7.5 hours a week 11.45am
-1.15pm 38 weeks a year
You would be fully supported by the Senior Leadership Team and Teaching Staff to complete duties such as;
- Supervising and supporting children during lunchtime, both indoors and outdoors
- Promoting safe, inclusive and positive play in line with the OPAL outdoor play and learning programme
- Encouraging positive behaviour, cooperation and respectful interactions between pupils
- Supporting children to develop social skills, confidence and independence during play
- Helping children to resolve minor disagreements calmly and appropriately
- Ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all pupils, responding effectively to any incidents or concerns
- Assisting with setting up and tidying play resources and lunchtime areas
