SENCO – Peterborough Diocese Education Trust
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join the Peterborough Diocese Education Trust. This full‑time role focuses on supporting students with complex SEN across St Barnabas Church of England School and Freeman’s Endowed Church of England Junior Academy.
As SENCO you will spend mornings teaching in the Butterfly Class at St Barnabas, while the remainder of the day is dedicated to SEN support, working closely with the Assistant Headteacher and Inclusion Lead.
Responsibilities- Teach in the Butterfly Class and support primary pupils with complex SEND needs.
- Lead SEN strategy and ensure all students feel safe, happy and able to learn.
- Deliver high‑quality first teaching and deliver curriculum to primary aged children.
- Use behaviour management strategies and work independently and flexibly.
- Promote the ethos of a Church and Trust school.
- Experience teaching children with complex SEND needs.
- NASENCO or NPQ SENCO qualification, or working towards it.
- Knowledge of primary curriculum and pastoral needs.
