Location

981 Worcester Street, Wellesley, MA – Internal Medicine/Adult Primary Care practice. We provide a full range of preventive and health maintenance care, coordinate care with specialists, and offer free parking at this location.

Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant II to support the practice on-site Monday through Friday 8:45am–5:15pm. Medical Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices, ensuring smooth patient flow and assisting in examination and treatment under the direction of a physician or advanced practitioner. MA staff work 1:1 with providers and coordinate with a Practice Coordinator as part of the support model.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates pre-visit preparations including addressing patient needs (comfort, communication, and other issues), ensures labs and tests are scheduled and completed prior to visits, and organizes paper charts.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and take vital signs.
  • Perform a variety of MA duties within the scope of practice, including injections and EKGs.
  • Obtain blood specimens following established procedures while maintaining a professional, patient-sensitive atmosphere.
  • Provide assistance to providers with office procedures.
  • Prepare requisitions and submit specimens to the laboratory.
  • Submit electronic prescriptions as instructed by providers.
  • Communicate with patients regarding laboratory results, imaging results, and prescription instructions per practice protocol.
  • Clean and restock exam rooms.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient records and information.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Either BLS or Annual Manikin training including CPR and AED after 6 months of hire

Preferred:

  • Medical Assistant course or diploma program or a minimum of 1 year professional experience
  • National MA Certification via AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT
