Position SummaryThe History & Society Division of Babson College invites applications for a visiting assistant teaching professor of Race and Ethnic Studies for academic year 2026‑27, with the potential of renewal for academic year 2027‑28. History and Society is a multi‑disciplinary liberal arts division that welcomes applications from a range of social science disciplines. Field of specialization is open, with a preference for candidates who can teach their own designed classes to non‑majors in Introduction to Ethnic Studies and advanced course topics related to one or more of Critical Race Studies, African American Studies, Asian American Studies, Latinx Studies and Native American Studies.
We seek an innovative educator whose teaching incorporates inclusive pedagogies and integrates methodologies and theoretical perspectives from multiple liberal arts disciplines. Successful candidates will show an ability to design and teach intermediate and advanced courses to non‑majors. Babson’s liberal arts curriculum is built around a multi‑disciplinary, intersectional approach.
- Teach race & ethnic studies in our undergraduate and graduate programs.
- The teaching load is six courses (sections) per year, typically with four distinct preparations.
- Assume additional responsibilities as required.
- A Ph.D., but ABD with verified completion by August 2026 will be considered and have previous college and university teaching experience and/or practical experience relevant to the courses to be taught.

Babson College delivers courses in many different teaching formats, including traditional semester schedules, half semester schedules, day and evening classes, in‑person, and on‑line instruction. We offer programs in fall, spring, and summer. This is an exempt position with the following pay range: $68,996–$72,829.
