RN – Multi-Unit Float Radius Rule: 50 miles
• All submissions must include an unexpired Driver’s License
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission Units / Beds:
• CCU: 10 beds
• IMC: 30 beds
• MS Level 7: 27 beds
• MS Level 8: 48 beds
• Skilled Care: 33 beds
• ED: 15 beds
• Will float across multiple units; ED or CCU only if within skillset Ratios:
• CCU: 1:2–3
• IMC: 1:4–6
• MS Level 7: 1:5–6
• MS Level 8: 1:5–8
• Skilled Care: 1:8–10
• ED: TBD
Certifications:
• BLS required
• ACLS required if working in CCU or ED Patient Population: NSTEMI, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetes, heart disease, diverticulitis, and more Experience Requirements:
• 5 years RN experience required
• Prefer 1 year ICU or 1 year ED experience
• Must be comfortable floating to lower-acuity units
• Must be able to manage ratios 1:2–10
• Flexible, adaptable, strong problem-solving skills required Drips:
• Titration required in ED & CCU
• Common drip:
Heparin (traveler manages all critical drips) Support Staff:
• Charge RN on each shift (may take assignment)
• CNAs/PCTs available (ratios 1:7–15) – ADLs, vitals, blood sugars, toileting, feeding, repositioning Respiratory / Tele:
• RT manages vents, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, Airvo (RN must troubleshoot)
• Monitor techs 24/7; RNs must read, interpret, print, and measure strips Scheduling:
• Self-scheduling | 3×12s/week
• Schedule finalized after balancing unit needs
• Schedules posted 4 weeks at a time
• Weekends:
Every other
• Holidays:
May rotate (Group A / Group
B) Call:
None Assignments:
• Unit assignment sent via text within 2 hours prior to shift
• Clock in on assigned unit & complete daily timesheet Dress Code:
Navy blue scrubs Orientation:
• 1 day general orientation + 1 precepted shift
• Oriented to one unit only before floating independently
