Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team and lead the development, integration, and launch of automated manufacturing systems for Form Energy's Iron-Air multi-day battery. This role is focused on translating early-stage product and process concepts into robust, scalable, and production-ready automated equipment.
This position requires a manufacturing engineer who operates comfortably at the system level, combining deep automation expertise with strong process development fundamentals. You will own automated equipment from concept through commissioning and ramp, drive technical decision-making across mechanical, electrical, controls, vision, and safety domains, and ensure processes are designed for capability, yield, and long-term stability.
You will partner closely with Process Engineering, Product Design, Controls, Quality, Software, and Operations to define requirements, manage technical risk, and lead structured experimentation using DoE and statistical analysis to mature processes during new product introduction. This role is hands-on, execution-focused, and requires the ability to lead complex technical efforts with limited oversight.
Your work will make a significant and daily impact on cutting-edge battery technology that will revolutionize the electric grid and bring major change to grid reliability and sustainability. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company with a direct impact on the nature of energy storage and renewables.

Partner with Controls, Robotics, Vision, and Safety teams to ensure automation systems meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements
Identify system-level constraints and risks, propose data-backed solutions, and drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders
Support transition from development to operations by establishing process controls, documentation, and training to enable sustainable production
Mentor and technically guide other engineers, contributing to standards, best practices, and organizational learning
10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with a strong focus on automation and equipment development
Proven experience launching automated equipment in a production or pilot manufacturing environment
Strong foundation in process development, experimental design, and statistical analysis
