Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Process Engineer II to join our Operations Engineering team. In this role, you will be a key contributor as we scale the production of our iron-air battery technology. You will contribute to the optimization of production workflows, using data-driven insights to enhance quality, throughput, and yield. By partnering across our team to bridge the gap between process development and high-volume execution, you will ensure our manufacturing processes are both robust and scalable.
Your work in driving these technical improvements directly enables the delivery of long-duration energy storage systems essential for a reliable electric grid.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects to optimize production processes, reduce costs, improve quality, and increase efficiency.
- Coordinate collaboration with our team to identify and solve production issues while maintaining rigorous product quality standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop comprehensive corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment, processes, and systems.
- Utilize key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and ensure production targets are met.
- Prioritize safety by ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies related to environmental, health, and safety.
- Support the usage of PLM, MES, and ERP systems to enhance manufacturing intelligence and operational tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of related work experience.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and showing accountability for their quality, throughput, and yield.
- Ability to use statistical methods for making process development decisions and a high level of comfort with data query tools.
- Experience participating in multidisciplinary projects and a desire to mentor others in industrial best practices.
- Technical understanding of creating PFMEAs and implementing robust controls for risk mitigation.
- Pragmatic problem-solving skills and a history of thriving on complexity within a high-growth environment.
- Intellectual curiosity and a drive for continuous learning to solve the unique challenges of manufacturing a complex novel technology.
This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
