Under the direction of the Equipment Manager and/or Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Equipment Manager plays a key role in maintaining and repairing gasoline-, diesel-, and electric‑powered golf course maintenance equipment. This role involves both independent work and team collaboration, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance, safety, and shop organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose, repair, and maintain golf course maintenance equipment.
- Communicate equipment needs and repair priorities with management.
- Perform preventative maintenance and daily equipment inspections.
- Set up, adjust, and modify new equipment as needed.
- Repair engines, cutting units, and mowing equipment.
- Ensure equipment is fueled, lubricated, and operating safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient maintenance facility.
- Assist with parts inventory management.
- Follow all safety, recycling, and environmental procedures.
- Working knowledge of gasoline-, diesel-, and electric-powered equipment.
- Experience with golf course or turf equipment maintenance preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and tool proficiency.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
