Job Summary and Qualifications To ensure the delivery of optimal patient care through the coordination of clinical activities, staff supervision, personnel leadership/management, and unit organization. Demonstrates a service excellence approach and communicates this expectation to staff. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by achieving financial objectives of designated unit(s). Leads and coaches the development and growth of a safety culture in the department.
Responsibilities- Achieves professional goals set during the previous evaluation period
- Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct at all times
- Maintains good employee/peer relationships and teamwork
- Prioritizes work and duties and works well under stressful situations
- Demonstrates good communication and customer service skills with patients, families, physicians, peers and the healthcare team
- Demonstrates accountability for direct patient care, applies nursing process, prioritizes care and evaluates outcomes
- Participates in and facilitates discharge planning and assists with decreasing readmissions
- Documents all aspects of patient care efficiently, accurately and per policy
- Delegates patient care to licensed/non-licensed nursing staff based on acuity, patient needs, staff availability and qualifications
- Participates in performance improvement activities
- Provides leadership support in day-to-day clinical unit operations and supports a culture of safety on the unit
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Registered Nurse
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 3 years nursing experience in an acute care setting
