Job Title: Accounting Clerk (Bilingual – South Houston)
Location: South Houston, TX
Compensation: $23-$24 / hour
Benefits: This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our growing finance team. This role will focus heavily on collecting and entering field timesheet data, generating customer invoices, and supporting collections follow-up. The ideal candidate is fully bilingual (English/Spanish) and resides in the South Houston area
, with strong Excel skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both field personnel and customers.
Timesheet Collection & Data Entry
- Collect daily and weekly timesheets from field personnel
- Review timesheets for completeness and accuracy
- Enter worked hours into Excel tracking spreadsheets
- Follow up with field staff to resolve missing or incorrect time data
Billing & Invoicing
- Generate accurate customer invoices based on approved timesheets and job details
- Submit invoices through customer portals, websites, or email
- Maintain organized records of billing activity and supporting documentation
Collections Support
- Monitor accounts for past-due invoices
- Follow up with customers via phone and email regarding outstanding balances
- Research and help resolve billing discrepancies in a timely manner
- Document collection activity and customer communications
Administrative & Accounting Support
- Maintain organized electronic and physical financial records
- Support the accounting team with reporting and clerical tasks
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Assist with process improvements as needed
- Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Must reside in South Houston or surrounding area (required)
- 1–3 years of accounting, billing, or clerical experience preferred
- Strong Excel skills required (data entry, basic formulas; pivot tables/VLOOKUPs a plus)
- Experience with invoicing and customer portals preferred
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Comfortable communicating with field employees and customers
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
