Position Summary

Annunciation Catholic Church is seeking a faith‑filled and dedicated Part‑Time PSR Teacher to support the parish’s Parish School of Religion program. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about sharing the Catholic faith, enjoys working with children, and is committed to fostering a welcoming and engaging learning environment.

Position Overview

The PSR Teacher will provide weekly religious instruction to students, helping them grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith and their relationship with Christ. The teacher will follow the parish curriculum, collaborate with fellow catechists, and support families in their role as primary educators of the faith.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach weekly PSR classes using parish‑approved curriculum and resources.
  • Create a supportive, faith‑centered classroom environment that encourages participation and spiritual growth.
  • Integrate Scripture, prayer, and Catholic teachings into each lesson.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Religious Education and fellow catechists to support program goals.
  • Assist with sacramental preparation activities as needed.
  • Participate in required training, meetings, and parish formation opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and required documentation.
Qualifications
  • Practicing Catholic committed to the teachings and mission of the Church.
  • Experience working with children or teaching in a parish or school setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom‑management skills.
  • Ability to create engaging lessons that support faith formation.
  • Reliability, compassion, and a desire to serve the parish community.
