Pet Groomer at Pet Smart

Pet Smart’s Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences and best in class salon services. • Independently perform full menu of bath, brush and grooming services and standalone services (e.g., nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) in accordance with Pet Smart’s standards.
• Recommend additional health and wellness solutions to pet parents based on the pet’s needs.
• Manage the pet parent experience in person, over the phone, and at the sales register.
• Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations.
• Conduct appointment reminder calls, maintain client records, and consult with pet parents on services offered.
• Handle check-in and check-out procedures for grooming appointments, including paperwork and rebooking.
• Promote salon sales to help achieve sales targets and productivity metrics.
• Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions for all pets in the grooming area; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning per the checklist.
• Take immediate action if a sick or injured pet is identified; transport to the vet as needed.
• Assist in other departments as required and participate in the culture of Belonging and Recognition.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

• Prior grooming experience; or 6 months of experience as Stylist in Training with successful completion of Pet Smart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification, or passes the salon technical evaluation.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure.
• Flexibility in schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Stand, walk, climb a ladder; handle, feel, hold, write; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; vision requirements; reasonable accommodations available.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds routinely; may occasionally lift more than 100 pounds with assistance.
• Occasional exposure to moving parts, wet environments with pet hair, and high noise levels; exposure to live animals is common.
