The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all supplementary academic support programs for SSS program participants and leads a team-based proactive approach to intrusive interventions to aid in student success and retention. As well as collaborating with Weatherford College faculty, Academic Support Center, and Academic departments for tutoring partnerships. Will also be in charge of coordinating all of the cultural events, campus tours, workshops, hiring of tutors, and work‑study positions at Weatherford College.
Will work with the budget, open requisitions, and order supplies for the department of TRIO - SSS . Will also have Advisor responsibilities. Each advisor is to share a common caseload and responsibilities. Among those are: providing academic, financial, career, personal, and transfer counseling to program participants. The Advisors will act as facilitators of college, family, and community support for students and concentrate on the assessment functions of the program services for participants.
They will assist students in finding financial resources to pay for their educations and manage their finances. They are also responsible, along with the Director for record keeping of participant progress and completion.

Required EducationBachelor’s degree in Counseling or related field
Preferred EducationMaster’s degree in Counseling
Required Experience2 years working with/advising low‑income, 1st generation, academically disadvantaged students; 1 year career counseling and use of career assessment instruments; 1 year in use and application of assessment instruments, including diagnostic tests.
Preferred ExperienceExperience working with disadvantaged students in providing financial/economic literacy activities and information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinate all supplementary academic support programs for SSS participants and lead a team-based proactive approach to intrusive interventions to aid in student success.

- Manage all of the cultural events, campus tours, workshops, hiring of tutors, and work‑study positions at Weatherford College, Student Support Services.
- Assist with budget, requisitions, and ordering supplies for TRIO - SSS Program.
- Teach workshops on the following: career exploration, stress management, test taking, study habits, and financial literacy.
- Provide assessment, academic planning, advising, and monitoring for participants and work with students to develop their Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
