Responsible for establishing a Dental Hygiene Program to include:
Curriculum development, evaluation and revision;
Textbook selection and ordering;
Faculty recruitment, hiring, assignments , supervision and evaluations;
Initiation of program in-service and faculty development;
Developing, assessing,planning,and operating program facilities;

Budget development and fiscal administration;

Coordination, evaluation,and participation in determining admission criteria and procedures as well as student promotion and retention criteria.

Must be a Dental Hygienist or a Dentist who is a graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and possesses a masters or higher degree, who has a background in education and the professional experience necessary to understand and fulfill the program goals, and licensed to practice in Texas.

Each full time faculty member must demonstrate the ability to develop curriculum and instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; ability to provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses; ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory; ability to communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups;

ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources; and, ability to observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
