The Shift Leader is responsible for assisting the General Manager or Person In Charge (on duty) with management activities and duties. This role works with the Restaurant Management Team to ensure all activities align with the restaurant’s business plan and that all Crew Persons and Team Leaders perform their responsibilities effectively.
Essential Functions- Consistently provides quality products and customer service to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Works to improve the skills and performance of all Crew Persons.
- Supports efforts to maximize sales and profits while minimizing controllable costs by assisting management and leading shift activities.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures regarding business and personnel practices.
- Models and encourages company shared values.
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills with internal and external contacts.
- Attends training to stay current on industry trends.
- Participates in company meetings, webinars, and conference calls.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned based on business needs.
- 2-3 years of experience and/or education demonstrating knowledge of restaurant management.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Excellent planning, time management, and team-building skills.
- Investigative and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot cash handling issues.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance required.
- Must have a reliable communication method (telephone or equivalent) and be accessible to meet restaurant needs.
- Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with ability to implement process improvements.
Fast-paced environment involving kitchen equipment in tight quarters. Physical requirements include standing for long periods, bending, stooping, working around heat, and lifting 50-75 lbs. Work with various cleaning products is also required.
