- Comply with all safety policies and procedures
- Conduct audits of production and quality activities to ensure procedures are followed and standards are upheld.
- Review database information to identify quality problems. Interpret data to identify trends and quality issues.
- Prepare reports including spreadsheets and graphics, summarizing quality data and quality problems.
- Communicate information regarding quality issues to Shift supervisors, line operators, Process technicians, other quality personnel and direct supervisors.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
- Be proficient in all quality-related tests.
- Deliver training to line operators and other auditors.
- Maintain records to comply with regulatory requirements, GMP, HAACP.
- Help train new employees with necessary.
- Perform duties in an accurate, precise, neat and orderly fashion.
- Organize thoughts and work effectively in a changing environment.
- Must be able to correctly follow housekeeping policy.
- Other duties as requested by Supervisor.
- Through the use of problem-solving techniques in routine job activities and team settings, ensure quality expectations of customers are met or exceeded. Measure critical product/process variables, record or report using appropriate tools, and use information for continual improvement.
- If unable to maintain processes within established limits or meet specifications, stop the operation and seek assistance as needed.
- Conduct required off-line testing for products.
- Ensure all customer feedback is completed on time, root cause is identified and implemented.
- Assist in analyzing all customer feedback for trends and continuous improvement.
- Involved in corrective action and preventive action process.
- Assist in process capability studies as deemed necessary.
- Assist and/or train plant personnel in GIQ quality system.
- Assist in maintaining customer property.
- Assist in maintaining process for document control.
- Document COA’s, COC’s as required.
- Participate in customer visits.
- Defines quality concepts and quality processes, including statistical basics; applies quality tools; interprets information and data; applies team concepts.
- Where applicable, support the food safety team to organize its work, ensure relevant training and education of the food safety team members, ensure the food management system is established, implemented, maintained and updated, and report to management on the effectiveness and suitability of the system.
- Know which measurements and test equipment (M&TE) tools are appropriate for various tasks and how to assess tool accuracy and precision; understand standard traceability for M&TE.
- Understand and apply basic inspection and testing techniques, including various types of sampling plans.
- Understand and apply various quality audit types and their components, tools and techniques.
- Must be able to control nonconforming material.
This position is in our Plastics plant in beautiful Waynesville, North Carolina. We are producing plastic thermoformed trays.
Qualifications & Requirements- We expect you to be Toppan's mission driven and have a "get it done" attitude with an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.
- Reliable, with good initiative, commitment, and quality focus.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
- 2-5 years of manufacturing-operations experience.
- Quality Technician Certification highly desirable.
- Knowledge of quality processes highly desired.
