COUNTY MANAGER
Burke County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for the position of County Manager. This position is responsible for the supervision of County Departments, the day-to-day executive role, and reports to the five-member County Board of Commissioners. This position oversees a county budget of $70+ million with $44+ million allocated to the general fund. This is a full-time position with compensation and benefits as determined by the Board.
- Supervise County Departments and perform the day-to-day executive leadership.
- Report to the Burke County Board of Commissioners and operate under Board policy guidance.
- Oversee the county budget, including $70+ million in total expenditures with $44+ million in the general fund.
- Direct administration of Burke County government with high-level administrative, technical, and professional work.
- Exercise executive authority subject to the Board s oversight and authority.
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration or a related field.
- At least five years of experience as a city or county manager or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Full-time position with comparable pay and benefits. The successful applicant will be subject to a background check and drug screening.
