DESIGNER – EFIN, Plant Vogtle 3 & 4
The position is part of a team that responds to plant issues through cross‑functional troubleshooting and develops, reviews, and implements any design modifications resulting from that process.
SUMMARY OF POSITION DUTIESEngage in fleet troubleshooting, develop design change documentation, and assess configuration changes for impacts to design, licensing, and other documentation. Depending on complexity, lead troubleshooting and prepare design change documents.
Perform field walk‑downs in an industrial environment to support troubleshooting, design constructability, and interface with craft personnel for resolution of possible field installation issues.
Document types include single line diagrams, elementary, logic, wiring, instrument loop, general arrangement, instrument index, setpoint, tubing isometrics, cable and component databases, vendor drawings, manuals, P&, piping isometrics, structural support details, equipment layout, and foundation. Work closely with engineers and other design peers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
- Technical Associate degree in computer‑aided design (preferred)
- Design experience involving the use of 2D CAD (preferred)
- AutoCAD or Micro Station software experience (required)
- 3D CAD experience is a plus
- Nuclear power plant design experience (preferred)
- Sound knowledge of standards, principles and practices related to designing, drafting, assembly, and bill of material management (preferred)
- Ability to review and interpret civil, mechanical, electrical and/or industrial digital control design documentation (preferred)
- Ability to review and apply design standards and requirements related to developed products (preferred)
- Working knowledge in cross‑functional disciplines (electrical, mechanical, civil & I&C) (preferred)
- Working knowledge of automated cable routing databases (preferred)
- Working knowledge of a nuclear plant modification and implementation process (preferred)
- Knowledge of nuclear plant systems, structures and components (preferred)
- Demonstrated skills in developing modification documentation (preferred)
- Demonstrated effective organization and work planning skills (required)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (required)
- Must be able to work in a plant environment with varying temperatures, humidity, noise, dust and radiation (required)
- Demonstrated behaviors of unquestionable trust, superior performance, and total commitment
- Daily use of human performance tools addressing vendor oversight, questioning attitude and problem solving
