Job Summary
The Project Manager II is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects within utility, construction, and nuclear environments
, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and safety requirements
. This role partners with engineering, operations, construction, maintenance, and regulatory teams to successfully deliver projects that support power generation, transmission, distribution, and infrastructure initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical awareness, and experience managing complex, safety-critical projects in regulated industries.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution
Develop comprehensive project plans defining scope, objectives, schedules, resources, and cost estimates for utility, construction, and nuclear projects
Execute projects using Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methodologies
, as appropriate for engineering and field-based workCoordinate project execution across engineering, construction, operations, and vendor teams
Lead and motivate cross-functional teams
, including engineers, technicians, construction crews, contractors, and vendorsAssign responsibilities and provide direction to ensure project milestones are achieved
Foster collaboration across departments while maintaining strong safety and quality standards
Develop and manage project budgets
, forecasts, and cost controlsTrack expenses, change orders, and contractor costs to ensure financial accountability
Support capital project reporting and cost justification
Define and manage project scope
, documenting and controlling scope changesIdentify and mitigate project risks related to safety, schedule, regulatory compliance, and constructability
Proactively address issues and escalate risks as needed
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and milestones
Monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery of construction, outage, or maintenance-related work
Implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes to meet engineering and construction standards
Ensure compliance with utility, construction, and nuclear safety standards
, policies, and proceduresSupport adherence to OSHA, NRC, environmental, and company-specific regulations
Promote a safety-first culture across all project activities
Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders
, including leadership, operations, construction, and regulatory teamsProvide regular project status updates, dashboards, and executive reports
Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve concerns
Maintain complete and accurate project documentation
, including plans, schedules, risk logs, and reportsEnsure proper project closeout, including stakeholder sign-off, lessons learned, and post-project evaluations
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related technical field
5–10 years of project management experience in utilities, construction, nuclear, or heavy industrial environments
Strong proficiency with project management tools and scheduling software
Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, hybrid)
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work effectively in regulated, safety-critical environments
PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent project management certification
Experience managing:
Power generation, transmission, or distribution projects
Construction or capital infrastructure projects
Nuclear facility projects, outages, or maintenance activities
Experience working with contractors, vendors, and field personnel
Familiarity with utility or nuclear documentation, work management, or outage planning systems
