Overview
The Outage Budget Analyst – Accounting supports financial accountability through monthly accounting activities, financial projections, and analysis of outage-related expenditures. The role ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, MBA, or advanced degree preferred.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of utility accounting and finance and knowledge of the specific accounting requirements of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is considered a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate across site and corporate organizations, and respond effectively to changing business needs.
- Collaborative skills across multiple stakeholders and organizations.
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills; flexible, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
- Experience with Southern Company financial systems (Oracle, Maximo) preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Support monthly accounting activities, financial projections, and analysis of outage-related expenditures.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
