Data Developer at Piper Companies

Piper Companies is seeking a Data Developer to join a well-established financial services company. This hybrid role is located in Wayne, PA and focuses on supporting and enhancing the enterprise data warehouse environment. It combines hands‑on development with data management.

• Perform data profiling, create source‑to‑target mappings, and develop ETL workflows using low‑code tools and/or Python
• Optimize SQL queries for performance and reliability
• Participate in testing, deployment, and troubleshooting of data integration processes
• Provide technical and business analysis for projects centered on data warehousing and BI solutions
• Contribute to data warehouse design decisions, ensuring optimal structures for processing and reporting
• Produce detailed technical specifications and maintain ETL documentation in partnership with architects and BI developers

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data‑centric development roles
• Strong knowledge of Python
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (Snowflake experience is a plus)
• Familiarity with Microsoft and Linux environments
• Hands‑on experience with integration patterns (e.g., flat files, APIs, web services)
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles (ER diagrams, normalization)
• Exposure to low‑code ETL tools
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (dimensional modeling, star schema)
• Ability to write clear technical documentation
