Job SummaryUnder direct supervision, responsible for performing basic daily laboratory tasks as they relate to the operations performed within the Virology Department.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Perform hemadsorption and hem agglutination tests.
- Perform indirect and direct immunofluorescent slide staining.
- Prepare stock blood solutions needed for hemadsorption and hem agglutination tests.
- Perform proper aseptic and sterile procedures for manipulation of cells and viruses.
- Calibrate, monitor, and clean lab equipment when deemed necessary by the supervisor.
- Follow all SOP, STM, etc., specific to each assay with accuracy and efficiency.
- Create forms in accordance with specific guidelines (i.e., cGMP, USP/EP/JP).
- Maintain calibration of equipment by notifying the supervisor and/or Facilities Department.
- Maintain inventory of necessary supplies by ordering and/or preparing reagents, media, etc.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Biology or related discipline. - Experience:
0–1 year related experience in a biological laboratory. - Certification/Licensure:
None. - Other:
Knowledge of cGMP and/or regulatory affairs pertaining to the pharmaceutical and biological industries is preferred but not required. Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Must be able to perform basic math functions. - Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a small group or one‑on‑one setting. Basic Microsoft Office skills are a plus.
The pay for this position is $24.00 per hour. Salaries vary within the range based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
