Job Description & How to Apply Below
Responsibilities
- Handling Tax Returns:You'll be the go-to person for preparing all our U.S. international income tax forms for foreign entities, like 5471s, 8858s, and 1118s. You'll also be crunching the numbers for U.S. international tax calculations, including GILTI, BEAT, Sub F, Pillar 2, and foreign tax credits.
- Leveraging Technology:We love using tax software and tools like Onesource to keep things running smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. You'll be using these tools daily and helping us find even better ways to use technology to our advantage.
- Teaming Up:Collaboration is huge here. You'll work closely with our tax and finance teams, plus outside advisors, to keep all our tax compliance and planning efforts aligned. You'll also be communicating effectively with everyone from senior management down, keeping them in the loop on tax matters and any potential risks.
- Shaping Tax Strategy:Get ready to roll up your sleeves and develop tax planning strategies that actually work to reduce our federal and international tax bills and maximize our benefits. This means staying sharp on the latest tax laws and advising management on how business decisions could impact our taxes.
- Keeping Records:We need someone meticulous! You'll be responsible for maintaining comprehensive and accurate documentation for all tax-related activities – think tax returns, supporting schedules, work papers, and correspondence. Everything needs to be neatly stored and easy to find for audits.
- Supporting Audits:When tax audits come around, you'll be there to help, providing all the necessary documents and explanations to tax authorities. You'll also work with external auditors and legal advisors to iron out any kinks that pop up during the audit process.
- Researching & Analyzing:You'll dive deep into complex tax issues, interpreting tax laws and regulations, and offering expert guidance to management and other stakeholders. Staying informed about industry trends and best practices is key to keeping us compliant and competitive.
- Ensuring SOX Compliance:You'll play a vital role in making sure we stick to our Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and requirements, maintaining compliance with our internal control procedures related to tax processes.
- Growing & Mentoring:We believe in continuous learning. You'll have opportunities for professional development to boost your expertise in federal corporate taxation. Plus, you'll get to mentor and train junior tax staff, helping us build a strong, knowledgeable tax team.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Certifications: Having your CPA, Certified Tax Advisor (CTA), or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a big plus.
- Experience: You should have at least 3-5 years of experience in U.S. international taxation, ideally from a public accounting firm or a corporate tax department. Experience with tax planning, compliance, and audit support is a must-have.
- Tech
Skills:
You'll need to be proficient with tax and ERP software (Onesource is preferred, and Oracle is a bonus), as well as Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail are essential. - Knowledge: You'll have in-depth knowledge of U.S. international tax compliance and calculations. Familiarity with transfer pricing and provision experience will really set you apart.
- Communication: We're looking for excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to break down complex tax concepts clearly and concisely. Strong interpersonal skills are also key for working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: You're a natural problem-solver who can think critically and creatively to spot tax-saving opportunities and head off risks.
- Organization: You're exceptionally organized, able to juggle multiple tasks and projects at once, hit deadlines, and prioritize your work like a pro.
- Ethics: You uphold high ethical standards and integrity, always maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements.
