At Delta Animal Emergency, we're on a mission to provide top-quality and compassionate care to pets in our community when they need it most. Our brand-new emergency/urgent care facility is dedicated to serving our community's four-legged family members. Responsibilities- Conduct thorough examinations of animals and diagnose illnesses or injuries
- Develop and implement treatment plans for animals based on their specific needs
- Perform emergency surgeries (e.g., splenectomy, GDV, foreign body removal, cystotomy, tumor removal) – a plus, but the candidate should be willing to learn the procedures
- Have knowledge or be willing to learn endoscopic foreign body retrieval
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive measures
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
Stay up-to-date with advancements in veterinary medicine and attend continuing education courses
- Strong knowledge of pet care, veterinary medicine, and veterinary terminology
- Experience in animal catheterization and dog training
- Understanding of animal physiology and behavior
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and staff members
- Familiarity with Instinct as the practice management software is a plus
