Supervisor, Operations

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is a leading provider of transportation, logistics, and supply‑chain solutions worldwide. The company supports customers by managing transport, storage, and distribution of goods across more than 80 countries.

Position Summary
  • Multiple shifts – Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (hours may change).
  • Responsible for supervising labor, planning inbound and outbound operations, and ensuring production, safety, and quality targets are met.
  • Collaborates with the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager on receiving, warehousing, and shipping activities.
  • Serves as a key point of contact for staff, senior management, and client representatives.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Conduct staff meetings to review work activities and drive continuous improvement.
  • Keep senior management and clients informed of critical issues affecting operations.
  • Develop and implement systems for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably.
  • Report on ongoing cost‑saving measures and suggest process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with KPI’s, quality systems, and client operating agreements.
  • Drive employee performance through training, evaluations, and development programs.
  • Plan daily work schedules based on orders and customer instructions.
  • Oversee space re‑organization and supply levels to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Maintain high motivation and provide growth opportunities for staff.
Skills & Abilities Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years’ experience in logistics, distribution, or a related environment.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Preferred: MHE certification or basic MHE operation knowledge.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
  • Successful completion of a forklift training program.
Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with RF scanners and WMS functions.
Language Skills
  • English – reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Business communication proficiency.
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic to intermediate skills for quantity verification and inventory reconciliation.
Other Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and timely completion of tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and personnel management skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  • Leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required.
  • Willingness to cross‑train and act as a back‑up in multiple areas.
  • Adaptability to fast‑paced change.
  • Ongoing willingness to work overtime and in variable temperatures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Occasionally: bending.
  • Frequently: walking and standing.
  • Constantly: sitting.
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 11–20 pounds; reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is generally low to moderate noise; exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals is rare.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected base pay: $65,000–$75,000 per year. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including experience, location, and performance.
