Ulta Beauty is looking for an Assistant Stylist to engage with guests, consult on their hair care needs, and recommend products and services. The role is a temporary position designed to prepare talent for a full Stylist position, focusing on guest experience, performance, and process compliance.

The Assistant Stylist will:

• Deliver exceptional guest service and contribute to sales and loyalty goals.
• Support the mentor Stylist by:
• Adding add‑on recommendations.
• Managing shampoo and treatment processes.
• Performing blowouts and styling.
• Applying color, including globs and retouch.
• Assisting with foils and other color processes.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Pre‑booking services.
• Recommending retail products.
• After month three, perform full hair services including cuts, color, texture, sensory treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Drive sales through product demos.
• Support in‑store events and promotions.
• Maintain awareness of new products and industry trends.
• Maintain prompt attendance.

• Develop guest relationships via consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests promptly under mentor guidance.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team for a total store experience.
• Cultivate professional peer relationships.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program.

• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Adhere to service protocols for consistent guest experience.
• Use booking and clientele systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain store operational standards.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.
• Adhere to the dress code.
• Protect company assets via loss prevention best practices.
• Execute additional operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Basic understanding of salon techniques and equipment.
• Ability to recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Independent work ability and teamwork.
• Strong customer relationship building.

• Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility, bending, reaching, and twisting.
• Continuous lifting of up to 10 lbs.
• Potential standing for long periods.
• Use of computer and telecom devices.

The pay range for this position is $15.49 - $21.70 per hour. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part‑time positions receive dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Eligible associates may also earn overtime and tips from service guests.
