Junior Staff Accountant

Our client is a growing food wholesale and distribution company supplying a wide range of consumer products to retail and food service partners. They operate in a fast-paced environment focused on efficiency, compliance, and safe handling of food products. The Staff Accountant will oversee full-cycle accounting operations for a small manufacturing environment. This is a hands‑on accounting role responsible for managing daily financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of accounting functions within a small business environment. This role works closely with leadership, operations, and HR to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient financial workflows.

• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing, production, or small business environments.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, or similar ERP/accounting platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Solid understanding of GAAP principles and general accounting practices.
• Experience managing full-cycle accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of accounting operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

• Manage Full-Cycle Accounting: Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger management.
• Perform Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts, vendor statements, and internal financial reports to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare Financial Reports: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and accounting standards.
• Maintain Financial Records: Ensure accurate and organized financial documentation and reporting to support audits and internal reviews.
• Support Cross-Functional Operations: Collaborate with Operations and HR teams to ensure efficient financial processes and workflows.
• Improve Accounting Processes: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
