Boswell Oil Company is a dynamic growth-oriented distributor of lubricants and fuels to wholesale, retail, and commercial end user markets throughout Georgia. We are seeking an experienced Class B Commercial Driver with Hazardous Materials and Tanker Endorsements for our company. Previous commercial driving experience required and petroleum delivery experience is strongly preferred.

The position will base out of our Waycross, Ga warehouse and the typical schedule will be dayside Monday through Friday. To meet customer need there may be schedule flexibility. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

SUMMARYThe Driver, Class B CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tanker Endorsement, is responsible for providing safe and courteous service while delivering quality petroleum products. This position will typically drive a tank wagon to delivering fuel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThese are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Operates truck as directed to transport petroleum products between the facility and multiple destinations.
- Prepares, receives, and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery and/or pick-up of petroleum products to ensure timely service.
- Makes deliveries of petroleum products in accordance with customer needs and company policies.
- Maintains contact with home terminal/dispatch center to receive delivery instructions or notices of changes in route or schedule to meet customer needs and maintain safe operations.
- Responsible for daily inspection of vehicle (pre and post trip), ensuring proper function of all safety related features of the vehicle at all times, including refueling as needed.
- Comply with all DOT, EPA, FMCSA, and company regulations.
- Follows all department standard operating procedures.
- Follows prescribed safety rules and fosters an environment where employee safety is a top priority.
- Inspect/perform minor troubleshooting and repair of employer/customer storage tanks and dispensing equipment.
- Be carded and maintain card at various terminals as needed for fuel delivery.
- Must maintain a clean presentation of the driver and vehicle.
- Assists in the implementation of improvement projects or system enhancements, which will result in efficiency improvements, quality improvements, and/or cost savings.
- Maintain adherence to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Problem solves issues as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment both inside and outside the commercial vehicle and any other company equipment or property.
- Complete preventative maintenance or follow maintenance procedures as prescribed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Crosstrain to assist in other departments.
Required and responsible for employee safety, attending safety training, complying with all company safety and work policies and reporting all accidents/injuries immediately to their Manager and/or HR Department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEThe minimum education required for this position is a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year experience in commercial driving; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Haz Mat and Tanker Endorsement required. Forklift experience a bonus. Previous experience in delivering petroleum products strongly preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret documents; to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to read, speak, and write the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to comprehend and apply the principles of mathematics. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.
REASONING ABILITYThis position requires an ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
