The Goddard School located at 1528 Providence Road S Waxhaw, North Carolina has been open for 13 years and has 170 children under our care. We are the premier preschool for children from six weeks to six years old and are looking to add qualified Preschool Lead teachers to our team! Our talented teachers collaborate with parents to nurture children into respectful, confident, and joyful learners.

What’s it like to be a teacher at our School?

  • Supervise classroom and Co-lead all classroom activities throughout the course of the day
  • Observe children’s interests and work with co-teachers and educational support staff to develop creative ideas for an engaging curriculum
  • Develop weekly lesson plans alongside our Curriculum Coordinator to be utilized in the classroom
  • Feel a sense of accomplishment as you experience the laughter and wonder of children participating in activities you planned
  • Communicate with parents daily, sharing their children’s latest adventures and achievements through a variety of avenues, including mobile apps and personal discussions
  • Engage with other childcare professionals and continue to grow in your profession

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred;
    Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
  • At least 1 year of teaching experience in a classroom setting
  • At least 1 year of experience working with preschool/pre-k children aged 3-5 years old
  • Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and faculty members;
    Works cooperatively alongside all co-teachers and school resource teachers
  • Works productively without supervision within established organizational policies and procedures
  • Is highly motivated and takes direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Is able to complete weekly lesson plans to be carried out within the classroom
  • Is able to follow Goddard and state licensing guidelines to ensure the health, safety and education of all children
  • Is dependable, reliable and adaptable and enjoys working in teams
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

At The Goddard School, our teachers are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of assigned classes. Teachers will plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment and work directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service.
